AO & DO – Attack and Defense

AO & DO – Attack and Defense

In WWII Online control that Attack Objective (AO) and that Defense Objective (DO) the focus of a campaign. They show all players where the next attack or the most important defense will take place and ensure that battles are concentrated on a few crucial areas of the front.

Note:
AO = This is where we attack.
DO = Here we defend.

AO – Attack Objective

The Attack Objective is set by the High Command on an enemy city.

  • Marks the attack target.
  • Allows you to take the city.
  • Later activates the capture points.
  • Directs all attackers to the same target.

DO – Defense Objective

The Defense Objective is placed on a threatened city.

  • Marks the defense focus.
  • Warns all defenders of an attack.
  • Concentrates reinforcements.
  • Helps squads with operational planning.

How does an attack occur?

  1. The High Command starts AO on an enemy city.
  2. All players recognize the attack target on the campaign map.
  3. The defenders react with one DO.
  4. Both sides deploy infantry, tanks, artillery and aircraft to the target area.
  5. After the AO preparation time has expired, the capture points become active.
  6. Now the actual city battle begins.

Tips for new players

  • If possible, always look for a mission on an active AO or DO.
  • There you will find the most players and the most exciting battles.
  • A DO requires just as many players as a AO.
  • Use the IVC and/or mission chat and collaborate with other players or your squad.
  • Tanks, infantry and air force should be used together.
Briefly explained:
AO and DO are at the heart of every campaign. The AO determines where to attack. The DO shows where defense has the highest priority. Both markings ensure that the fighting is concentrated on the decisive sections of the front.

This also includes bridges that can be destroyed to block the enemy's actions. These can also be assigned AO (destruction) or DO (repair)!
