The capture system

Capture system in WWII Online

The Capture system determines how cities and towns in WWII Online be conquered. A city does not fall by killing people alone, but by capturing and holding more important ones Capture Points.

Note: It's not kills that win a city, but captured capture points.

1. Set AO or DO

An attack begins with one AO - Attack Objective or DO – Defense Objective the defense of a city. Only then does a city officially become vulnerable.

2. Capture Points

There are several buildings with flag rooms within the city. These must be taken by infantry.

3rd city contested

As soon as the first capture point falls, the city is considered contested. From this moment the actual city battle begins.

4. Capture the city

The city only belongs to the attacking or defending faction once all necessary facilities have been taken over.

Expiry of an intake

  1. The High Command starts AO DO on a city.
  2. The capture points become active after a short waiting time. After approx. 10 minutes
  3. Infantry enters a flag building.
  4. The soldier remains in the capture area until the point is captured.
  5. The captured capture point must be secured against recapture.
  6. Additional CPs, Army Bases, Airfields or Docks are captured.
This intake is only possible after 8 minutes. For this, the city has to be continuous contested be
  7. Once all important objectives have been conquered, the city changes hands.

When is a city considered contested?

You can see it on the map by the "explosion" below the city name.
In this case it is a DO for the Axes and a AO for the Allied Forces.

On the map it looks like this:

Who can cap?

Truck/van No Brings infantry closer to the target area.
Airplanes No Support with reconnaissance and air strikes.

Important destinations in a city

Depot

Depots are often the first targets. Those who hold depots can increase the pressure on the defenders and force them to move to other spawn areas.

Army base

The Army Base is particularly important because it affects military supplies and spawning opportunities.

Airfield

Cities with airfields have additional objectives that also need to be secured.

Docks

Port cities can have docks. These must also be taken into account when taking it.

Capture process at a glance

AO set → CPs active → Infantry caps buildings → City contested → more targets fall → all facilities captured → City belongs to your faction

Tips for players

  • If possible, don't go into a capture building alone. The more the better and the cap timer also runs faster. Maximum speed requires 8 infantrymen.
  • Multiple infantrymen also increase the chance of holding the point.
  • Tanks should secure building entrances instead of advancing alone.
  • Smoke grenades help you approach dangerous CPs.
  • A captured CP is only valuable if it is held.
  • Defenders should quickly regain lost points.
Briefly explained:
Capture buildings. Hold capture points. Secure supply routes. Only when all of a city's important objectives have been taken over is the city truly conquered.
